Miners in the New York Mountains near Searchlight resume activity with plans for a spur railroad from Purdy. The D. and W. Mine south of Needles reports a ten foot Lane mill and two new concrete storage tanks after adding two shifts last week. Water supply is ample for operations. H. C. Cloudman of the State Mining Bureau returned from Los Angeles and will cover the Barstow district and east.

Oil Doings At Kramer Consolidated Drillout Plans
Kramer Consolidated faces a tool snag but expects removal by Tuesday. Messrs Dover and Butts returned from Los Angeles to arrange an outfit for Hinkley drilling, with shipment set for November 20. Lost Mexican prospector found in desert forty miles south
May Be Lost On Desert J T Burns and W W Brown turning from Indian Springs Tuesday found four miles south of the springs in the dry lake a roll of blankets with a prospector outfit tobacco stamps and stationery. A memorandum book and slips name Jose Lozano a Mexican with friends in Mojave Kelso and Jean Nevada. Constable Harris took charge of the outfit and investigates. An empty canteen shows the man was without water and may be lost in the desert.

Catholic Bazaar and Dance Benefit for Barstow Church
