Santa Fe Gains All Property In id Townsite
Mrs. A. Gilham owner of Gilham's General Store in the old townsite received a settlement from Santa Fe this week after previously delegating to an attorney in San Bernardino. The amount is said to be greater than the initial offer. Gilham must vacate by March first and plans a two story building on the south side of the highway east of the National Old Trail Service Station. Pete Le Sage also settled with Santa Fe for the old Barstow Printer building, reported at more than $3200 for the building and 25 foot lot.

Brighton man shot during supper near river bridge
George Son aged 25 of Brighton was shot Tuesday evening while cooking supper near the river railroad bridge. A 19 year old Mexican youth and two companions were hunting when a shot pierced Son’s chest. An elder companion assisted him to the Stafford residence then to a hospital after transport to San Bernardino. the Mexican suspect was taken for trial. The shooting is reported accidental but illegal to possess firearms.
