Antlers Club Masquerade Ball a Social Week Highlight

The Barstow Antlers Club hosted a masquerade ball in the Andutrium last Tuesday with about 150 masqueraders. Prizes went to Walter Alf and Mary Connor with others earning honors. Local attendance included Daggett Yerma and Lenwood district residents. music from San Bernardino complemented the event.

Mrs Rankin Hosts Five Hundred Party in Dillingham Apts

Mrs Joe Rankin entertained a small group Thursday afternoon at the Dillingham apartments with three tables of five hundred. Scores were close until the last hand, and Mrs Paul Martin won top honors receiving polychrome candlesticks, while Mrs Cox earned second with a bouquet. A luncheon of sandwiches salad cake and coffee followed. The rear Pullman coach on Santa Fe train No 17 became uncoupled Tuesday morning at Ludlow. While backing to couple the coach, the car crashed into the car injuring a man and a woman occupants who were taken to Santa Fe hospital.

Goffs Dance Night Ends With Masked Revelry and Prizes

On October 28 the Goffs schoolhouse hosted a dance by local youths. Masks were removed at 10 pm revealing the maskers Alex Fernandez Arthur Wells and Mrs. Thompson who won cigarette boxes and candy for best costumes. Luncheon followed with sandwiches cake and coffee. Also noted were travel by Mr. and Mrs. W.S. Auztian and sons Jake and Sanford who broke a rear axle in western Needles, and Mrs. T. A. Miller visiting Needles. The Needles Carnival supported striker funds.
