A Red Cross fundraiser is planned at the Waterman Ranch north of the Santa Fe bridge at Barstow tomorrow evening from 5 30 to 8 00. Arrangements include coach service if possible plus hay wagons and volunteers offering auto rides. Menu features barbecued pork beef and baked fish with other items. bring knives forks spoons and cups. paper plates supplied. An additional Red Cross barbecue is set for Atolia and Johannesburg next Sunday with diversions and acts to attract a large crowd.

Accident Kills Santa Fe Bridge Carpenter at Barstow Yard
Ernest Hogrewe, about 40, a Santa Fe bridge carpenter, was run over by a switch engine in Barstow freight yards while crossing in front of the train. He died before reaching San Bernardino. his right arm was severed, left hand and both feet mangled. He leaves two brothers in Paterson New Jersey and a sister, Mrs. John Rohr Hendadalle.
