The legislature passed a pension law for citizens aged seventy and older and sent it to the governor for signature. It outlines the program and eligibility for elderly residents receiving support.
Mr John Chambers on business in Needles delivered a Nash Stan dard Sedan to Fireman Pinkerton. A Nevada Company drills for oil about eight miles north of Haws station and about twenty miles west of Barstow. Mrs Lea Leahy reports her dog poisoned on Monday but improving after castor oil olive oil and milk. Friday high school attendance was light as Seniors did not show. The report describes an excellent trip.
A Cleveland related ad suggests taking three glasses of water with Adlerika to clean both upper and lower bowels. It promises rapid relief within ten minutes for gas and sour stomach and two hours for constipation. The notice also reports local desert plant laws and community events with social visits and family travel updates.

B F Butts leaves for Agboy early next week to install a large sign promoting the Melrose hotel air cooled system. Water reservoir walls completed and cement floor poured, project expected to finish around June 11. B F Florman sails to Los Angeles on business and may move to Barstow. Sides and Miller visit Needles. Mrs B I Gouldin to visit Los Angeles. Chamber of Commerce meeting well attended. sidewalk district discussed and a sanitary district for Barstow planned.
