Barstow hosts a July 4 celebration sponsored by the American Legion Griffith Post No 324 and local groups. The event will involve Needles Daggett Ludlow Yermo Hinkley Harper Lake Helendale and surrounding desert towns with Kiwanis Boy Scouts and other groups invited to assist in producing a landmark districtwide display.

Car Brakes Loose on Grace Hill Crash
Daughters of Mr and Mrs Lindsey narrowly escaped death when an Oakland parked on a steep hill rolled and plunged down a bank last Thursday afternoon. The car overturned twice, Catherine Lindsey suffered seven stitches under the armpit, Jean Lindsey was slightly cut, top crushed, both children miraculously uninjured amid the wreck.

Mudgett's Car Stolen Recovered At Ludlow
Al Mudgett reported his Ford sedan stolen from in front of Dillingham Bros store Tuesday night. Constable Ed Harris and Sheriff’s office investigated, leading to Ludlow where a man named Sy Jalger was found with the car.
