Control San Jose Scale by Dormant Treatment
The most effective control for the San Jose scale on peach trees is to apply a lubricating oil emulsion during winter, when trees are dormant. Liquid lime sulphur is also used. lead arsenate is of no value. Spraying must reach every trunk, limb, and branch side. If heavy infestation killed limbs, prune before dormant spray. Fertilize with high nitrogen in spring to promote new wood. Details on mixing oil emulsion are provided on request.
