High School Glee Club Delivers Successful Windmills of Holland
The High School Glee Clubs presented the operetta Windmills of Holland last Friday March 6 to great acclaim. Lead cast including Herbert Gouldin Marie Tumblin Phyllis Arends Mina Conaway George Trenkle Fred Mill and Jack Melton impressed with strong singing and stage presence. The production featured a blue and white Dutch setting with a notable windmill display and cardboard shingles. The evening opened with orchestral numbers by students with Barstow orchestra later performing two pieces.

Doctor Pratt Called to Nevada for Shooting Incident
Dr A C Pratt was summoned Monday to Paurump Valley Nevada to treat the son of Aiken a San Francisco attorney who was shot. The father Aiken owned a large ranch there and the shooting is believed accidental. Pratt met the father in Los Angeles at Barstow and they drove 175 miles to the ranch with C E Pratt of San Francisco accompanying them.

Former Barstow Dentist Dird Tuesday in Glendale
Telegram received Wednesday reports the death of Dr. O. K. Mapes in Glendale California after several months illness. Former Barstow dentist who had practiced there since 1923 returned home last fall and was a member of the Elks Lodge Glendale and Antlers Club Barstow. He leaves a wife and two children. Funeral services held Thursday afternoon.
