San Bernardino County receives 300000 as its share of California's 4522226 federal aid for road work. Funds will grade the National Old Trail Highway between Victorville and Barstow and improve a section near Ludlow. Projects begin this year, with completion by 1926. Los Angeles Riverside Imperial San Diego Orange Ventura counties also share the grant. About one third of work to be completed this year.

Boy Falls From Auto Near Barstow injures head and side
A twelve year old boy, traveling with his parents from New Mexico to Barstow, fell from a heavily loaded auto while reaching for a hat. He suffered a head injury and side wounds about 35 miles east of Barstow. Dr. S L Benson and Nurse Pelliman treated him at the scene. The unknown family were staying at the Sturnacte ranch east of town.

Sells Out Barstow Business After Twelve Years
George Drumm, longtime operator of a billiard parlor and barber shop in Barstow, sold the business except the barber shop to Smith & Pleasant this week. He plans to devote time to mining and has interests in Goldstone. After the town moves to the new highway location, he will start a new barber shop. National Gun Trails Boosters Trek Westward
Eleven Garstow business leaders left Barstow at 7 am on Sunday to inspect the National Old Trail Highway toward Amboy and 29 Palms. The cut off proved nearly impassable with sand bogs and a misdirection for several miles. From Amboy to 29 Palms the journey consumed six hours for 49 miles, cars needing towing and repairs. Officials reported no service stations on the route and warned travelers of scarce water, urging San Bernardino and county leaders to improve the National Old Trail Highway rather than build the cut off.
