C. E. Hubbar of Prescott Arizona, an employee of the Santa Fe, suffered a deep cut to his left hand when his auto rolled over on a highway east of Barstow. He braked to avoid a gate marking a two foot dirt ledge, causing the car to slide and overturn. After windshield and hand were treated by Dr. Graham at Barstow Garage, he continued to Los Angeles.

George Oxen of Daggett Dies in Livermore Hospital
George Oxen a former telegraph operator from Daggett died June 21 at the Veterans Hospital in Livermore of tuberculosis. He served in the war and returned a year ago hoping the desert climate would restore his health. He was married in 1917 to Laura Goodrich and leaves eight children. The widow and youngest child were at the hospital. two other children stayed with Uncle Joe Goodrich in Daggett. He previously lived near Haywards with his mother before being moved to the hospital.
