Douglas Craig of Goffs was yesterday held to answer in the superior court on murder charges after a preliminary hearing before Justice Co H. Marks of Needles. He is accused of shooting Leo Sweeney of Needles during a dance at the Goffs schoolhouse three weeks ago.

Tire Blows Out Auto Turns Over Near Minneola Crossing
An accident near the Minneola crossing caused a car to overturn after a tire blew out. Mr. and Mrs. R. N. Logan of Ontario California were injured en route to Springfield Missouri. Nurse Calman and Dr. John A. Graham transported them to Victorville hospital where Logan suffered two broken ribs and bruises while Mrs. Logan sustained a dislocated left elbow. The car sustained heavy damage.

Barstow Union High School selects P Harrison Hurst as principal for the coming term. He formerly taught at Mountain Empire Union High School in Pine Valley near San Diego. Barstow Post Named for War Hero Griffith
A Barstow delegation gathered in Chino to name a new American Legion Post after Richard Arnold Griffith, Barstow native who died in France on October 27, 1918 with the 848th Machine Gun Battalion. The charter, names, and officer elections will follow as state officers prepare the charter.
