Barstow residents attended the funeral of Lloydis Williams, the two and a half year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Williams, at Hanford on Sunday at 2 30. Mrs. Williams was formerly Miss Jessie Metzger and taught at Barstow High School. The party then visited Fresno with Mr. and Mrs. George Santhu and Mr. and Mrs. Kettlesen, whose daughter Esther Ireland also taught at Barstow High School. Mr. John F. Irvin and wife of Victorville are visiting Bill Hager man, who fills in for Harvey Mosier of Southern Sierra Power Company. Mosier is on vacation in Seattle. L. E. B. Tiernan and wife are away from Barstow touring southern Oregon sponsored by the California Publishers Association, with Crater Lake as a notable stop.

Car overturns after tire blows out near Barstow
Mrs. Lillian Jones and her son Herman of Ludlow were riding in a Studebaker east of Barstow when a front tire blew. The car skidded, struck a rock pile, and rolled over. Both were bruised but not seriously hurt. the car sustained only light damage.
