The Local Exemption Board at Barstow reports registrations for call No. 627 with George Oxson of Daggett drafted as a volunteer to Oregon Agricultural College and entrained June 12. Additional names list applicants as automobile mechanic Ruben Foreman, clerk Paul McCusker, auto driver Alonzo Ogle, plus numerous 21 year olds registered from Barstow and adjacent precincts.

June Wedding in Barstow Sealed Quiet Ceremony
In Barstow a secret wedding took place Saturday June 1 at eight pm. Walter King and Miss Emma Walters became husband and wife in the groom’s mother's home with Judge Carter officiating. They received only immediate family’s congratulations and then left for Los Angeles for a honeymoon. Verda Hawse returned from San Francisco yesterday.

Early Shipment of Peaches It Advertises the Valley
