Seven thousand people died from drowning in the United States last year, including many children. The local Red Cross Chapter will sponsor a Life Saving and Swimming Week from July 10 to 21, offering free instruction on swimming and rescue techniques conducted by Mr. Park with Mrs. White coordinating at San Francisco. The campaign aims to reduce drownings by teaching basic life saving skills to swimmers and bystander observers.
