Colonel Wheaton and Annice May lead a revival of the old Ibex mine near Kilnefelter now renamed Gold Ridge. They plan to erect a processing plant soon after reportedly $200,000 in ore has been mined from the property and a sizable milling ore ledge remains.

Christian Science services are held in Antler's hall corner of 8rd and Hut chison street every Sunday morning at eleven o'clock. All are cordially invited to these services.
Notice by S Dolph that at 10 a m July 16 1930 at his ranch in the Hinkley district near Hinkley California he will sell one horse two cows and one goat to satisfy Hen for services. Twenty days notice sent to owner A H Bartell Milwaukee Wisconsin.
Barstow observers report ample gold and silver ore at the Barstow mining bureau and deepening Zenda shaft with hopes for gold and copper. Barstow mill tailings may profitably yield pure barium, while tin ore from Lane's Well attracts inquiry as tin remains scarce in California. Bear Lake shows low water with a July crowd at Bear Valley.
Rapid work on the Southern Sierras Power Company sub station at Fifth and Hutchison has the steel superstructure up and three large transformers installed. Officials say the plant could be ready to enter service in August, offering Barstow and nearby areas a larger, improved electrical facility. Company employees invite inquiries from interested residents.
Last Sunday a large crowd gathered in reserved seats at the playground for an outdoor Independence Day commemoration. Carl Groot led community singing with wind quartet Reginald Knaggs, A J Weld, L C Whitney, Rowena Ryerson. Pastor Frank C Reid spoke on 100 American liberty and virtue. Next Sunday features another open air service with sermon Bringing Back the Wing and a community talk on Waste Paper. Sunday services and Sunday school proceed as usual.
R. B. Peters, candidate for first district supervisor, visited Barstow on Wednesday. He was accompanied by Dix Van Dyke of Daggett who introduced him to residents. Peters is connected with the Farm Bureau and has been active in neighboring districts. his political announcement appears in this issue.
