Plane Crashes Over Hills Near Williamsfield No Injuries
A Waco plane piloted by Morris Dodson crashed in the hills south of Williamsfield Saturday at 7 40 pm. Owner Richard Gilmore of Redlands and Dodson were uninjured. They departed San Bernardino at 6 40 pm, flew toward Barstow, and could not land in the clearing. Dodson, training in aviation at San Bernardino, said the craft lacked power to clear the hills, weighed 1185 pounds, and landed at about eight miles per hour. Local men rushed to the scene and Santa Fe emergency hospital, but the occupants were safe.
