Railroad Commission Waves Power Company Valuation
The California Railroad Commission decided it is unnecessary to value The Southern Sierras Power Company's properties at this time since the company does not seek rate increases. The ruling follows five years of investigation and a prior decision that would have cut income by more than 300,000 dollars yearly. The commission noted existing voluntary reductions and left rates unchanged, inviting future reductions if desired, while stressing service costs over a large semi arid, competitive territory. Jack Melcher, previously in Lenwood TA T, moves to Albuquerque as relief agent and will be sent to Raton, New Mexico for permanent posting.
