New Years night audience at Sloan Hart hall announced Ella White of Barstow post office as top winner with 20 800 votes followed by Mrs. B F Gouldin 16 050 and Mrs. Hazel Pursley 8 450. Ella White thanks the public for support. The Printer received a Los Angeles to Needles route map from the Auto Club of Southern California to aid the good roads campaign. A Hudson 7 passenger car carried Buell Funk and Daggett mine operators from Daggett to Barstow in 16 minutes. Seeds from the U S Government Agricultural Department will be distributed by the Printer to those wishing to raise garden truck.

Willie Hendry oldest son of W T Hendry died December 21 in Los Angeles after pneumonia. He was a high school graduate and planned to pursue a technical course. The death shocked the Hendry family and many friends in Barstoly.
