San Bernardino County Bans Wild Flower Digging
The Board of Supervisors adopted an ordinance prohibiting digging and destruction of wild plants in San Bernardino County. Violations carry a fine and jail, targeting professional diggers and nurseries from Los Angeles and other individuals. County forester R M Tuttle and women’s clubs pushed for enforcement. The measure protects ferns and native flora and emphasizes preservation.
