A dance at the school auditorium last week under Barstow Band director L. P. Whitney drew a large crowd. Music supplied by a Hollywood organization was excellent and the event cleared about 526 dollars, ending a pleasant evening.

Mrs Anderson, sister of Mrs Shotwell, returned to her Los Angeles home Sunday after a pleasant visit. She was honored several times during her stay at the Rankin home. Mrs Rankin entertained Saturday night with two tables of bridge. Mrs Anderson received a lavender linen closet bag and Mrs Christenson won the picture Spring Song for high score as refreshments were served.
Yermo residents display a parade of new automobiles including Buick models owned by Mr. and Mrs. Joe McCue and Frank Ryerse, a Studebaker for Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gregg, an Essex coach for Mr. and Mrs. Kent Walden, and a Chrysler for Elgin King.
Mr and Mrs Jack Hardwich plan a modern four room cottage with builder details noting Mr Hardwich works as a car inspector and the couple aims for a practical cozy residence in a local housing column.

R EF Dickinson of Randsburg recently visited the Ord Mountain district south of Danger. He traveled for well known mining man P. Neil of Los Angeles and reported that his client has a real gold mine in the Ord district. Dickinson worked on locating lines and stakes and preparing filings.
Mrs. Brooks Tabor, described as the smiling lady in Tony's Cafe, spends a few days in San Bernardino and Long Beach visiting friends. She is seen in social circles around town during her stay.
J. E. Stanton District Maintenance Engineer of the California Highway Commission visited Barstow on Friday to review local road maintenance and infrastructure needs.
Mr and Mrs. L. P. Whitney and family will spend the week end at Riverside visiting Mrs. Whitney's parents.
Mr. Abernathy, Harvey House store keeper, has been critically ill with pneumonia but Mrs. McKin non reports he is now on the road to recovery. He and his family arrived from Guthrie, Oklahoma and are under the care of Dr. S. L. Benson.
Mrs A A True is visiting in Los Angeles with plans to tour local sights and meet acquaintances during her stay.She will be in the city for several days, exploring cultural venues and noting potential future engagements.
Mrs G D Hutchinson of Los Angeles is visiting the home of Mr and Mrs Charley Garver. Mr and Mrs Chic Warner were in Los Angeles over the weekend.
