Engineer Patterson Loses Foot in Train Accident
Engineer Frank Patterson suffered a serious accident near Bagdad Friday, leading to the amputation of his left foot at Santa Fe hospital in Los Angeles. He fell beneath locomotive wheels while inspecting an engine. Doctor John Graham treated him, with Mark Condo transporting the doctor and Patterson. Freshman Class News Sees Tools Delayed But Ready
Freshman students in the Manual Training class received tools last Friday to begin making projects before Christmas. They have been busy with working drawings and blueprints. Delays in tool sharpening pushed start time late, but continued hard work is expected to catch up.
Sophomores Plan Hard Time Party and San Bernardino Trip
At a Thursday class meeting the Sophomores planned a Hard Time Party for Friday night December 16 with costumes, music, and refreshments. Robert Borden and Ronald Seymour with his mother and sister Claire had recently driven to San Bernardino where Ronald and Claire received silver 4 H Club pins from the California Bankers Association for last year’s Agriculture Club work. On Sunday, December 11, a high school picnic to Calico Mines gathered about twenty five people, with Genevieve Ramsey and Nellie Cooper the only Sophomores in the group.
