20 30 Club Elects Everett Williams President
The Barstow 26 30 Club elected officers for 1931 Tuesday night. Everett Williams was named president and Carl Jordan vice president. Fenton Young will serve as sergeant at arms, Dorse Fissel as song leader, Percy Pete Jordan as entertainment committee chairman, Newt Henderson as secretary treasurer, and Roger Hartwick Bill Diehl Joe Gray Daggett Al Van Aman will serve on the board of directors. McCoy spoke of naval service in Manila and the Philippine insurrection. A play Polly With a Past will be staged December 23 to benefit the grammar school athletic fund.

The resolution states it would harm ranchers and Mojave valley citizens, and pledges resistance by honorable or legal means. It is signed by H. L. Miller as chairman and B. Frank Butts as secretary.

Padre of the Rains dies at 80 Father Jerome S. Richard
Father Jerome S. Richard died on Monday at the University of Santa Clara. He was famed for weather forecasting by sunspot theory and earned the title Padre of the Rains. He was 80 years old.

California bills propose three veterans hospitals
Senator Hiram Johnson introduced bills to fund three California veterans hospitals totaling four million dollars. Woman's Club Christmas Party Elects New Member
