Southern Pacific uses aluminum paint and heat rejecting glass to cut sun heat on lounge cars. Three coats of paint plus exterior finish reduce interior heat and a special glass blocks about 80 percent of heat rays while admitting light. Ten cars are nearing completion at a cost of $600,000, Passenger Traffic Manager McGinnis says.
The Orange County Fairgrounds announces a rodeo featuring Cheyenne Shorty Motorcycle Mike Jack Mabee Montana Curly and other cowboys. Rodeo events run August 30 31 and September 2 with after noon and evening exhibitions daily during the Fair from August 28 to September 2.
