Jim Lucas received word that 14 year old LaUril Beatty of Las Vegas Nevada ran away from home and was expected to meet a young man in Barstow. The girl was taken into custody by Officer Lucas at a stage stop near the Inspection station. Officers later believed the party might be employed as a dishwasher at the Harvey House.

Mr and Mrs Howard A Lamarsh returned Tuesday night from a motor trip reaching Longview Washington. They were joined by Mr and Mrs Geo Searles at Hollywood. The tour included Monterey Crescent City Crater Lake and the Redwood highway with a Crater Lake snow sighting and a drive along the Columbia River Highway before returning homeward.
