Foreman W A Swank reports the Richfield service station on Main near Seventh in Barstow will be ready early September. Eleven workers, including carpenters electricians and plumbers, are on site as lathers plasterers and further internal rooms are prepared. The center will be a sales room with separate spaces for women and men and a tile roof with decorative ironwork. A five foot planting area surrounds the building with shrubs and plants planned around the tower and grounds. Hydraulic hoist and future platform hoist sites are arranged.

Airplane Service To San Francisco Initiated
Wesley Phillippi, pilot for Trans continental Air Transport, visited Barstow Monday. He drove an auto bus transporting passengers from plane to downtown headquarters. The bus was returning to the St. Louis factory, with another pilot completing the leg to Winslow, as Phillippi heads back to Los Angeles. The two day on duty, two day off schedule continues.
