Auto Tops Los Angeles Hospital Topping Hurt In Crash
Chas. R. Topping Sr. of Barstow was struck crossing an intersection in downtown Los Angeles. He suffered a broken hip and was taken to Angeles hospital. His wife arrived with help as a truck allegedly hit him just after the second bell. He stays in bed for months in a plaster cast before walking again.

Forty Five Attend Barstow Woman's Club Meeting
Barstow Woman's Club met at the Nose Inn Monday afternoon with forty five ladies present. Ukelele Ike and his Texas Ramblers opened the program, two new members were admitted, and district President Miss Seaman of La Jolla gave an address. The Girls' Glee Club performed, Lulu Hodge spoke on winning the oratorical contest, and Mrs. Stevens, founder of the Santa Monica club, visited. Refreshments were served.

While driving to Barstow the pair avoided a Whippet coupe that spun in the road near Midwig. The lone driver said he tried to keep up with another car at about fifty mph and warned of wobbling wheels but did not brake. no damage occurred.

A carnival comes to Barstow next Monday for a week of shows with profits split five ways between the American Legion posts.
