The State Highway Department moves toward bids for Barstow to Las Vegas roads north of the river with a twenty mile contract from Yermo east. Officials in Sacramento will decide soon on paving Main street to the viaduct via First street, with a potential eighty foot right of way but current needs only about ten feet more. Property owners along First street are urged to respond, as action to include the connecting link from Main street to the viaduct must occur this week.

Two Story Hotel Planned Over Tony's Cafe in Barstow
Barstow supervisor A L Doran outlines architectural plans for a two story hotel to rise opposite Barstow Garage around Tony's French Cafe owned by Mrs Brooks Taber and A J Savinovich. Doran owns the cafe building and adjacent lots, with cafe centered in the new structure and rooms flanking it. A tree line will run along the alley from the jail east to the alley and north for 250 feet. Robbery Case Heard in Court Involves Arends Victims
