In 1921 W D Hartley moved from Barstow to Raton New Mexico to take the post of master mechanic with the Santa Fe railway. He has now been appointed mechanical superintendent of the northern district of the western lines with headquarters in La Junta Colorado effective April 1. Mr Sexton retires after 18 years as La Junta mechanical superintendent. A H Bierny of Dodge City Kansas named master mechanic in Raton effective April 1.

The overflow crowd witnessed the ceremony as the bishop questioned the converts before delivering a moving sermon. Assisting were Monsignor Francis Conay, Deen Dunne, Rev Patrick Murphy and Rev Father Lambrick. Music led by Mrs W Willett received high praise from the bishop.

Truck Hits Engine at Verdemont Crossing
Monday afternoon at 430 Mack Rizzardini driving a large produce truck struck an oncoming engine at Verdemont crossing in San Bernardino. He said he looked both ways, heard the whistle, and backed but the truck remained on the tracks a foot. The engine smashed the car. Mack suffered minor cuts and bruises after being thrown about twelve feet. The engine was returning to San Bernardino to assist trains upgrade.

High School Girls to Parachute Jump in Ludlow
