Auto crash derails freight train at Kramer crossing
F. H. Jenks age 66 drove his car into a freight engine at Kramer crossing in the early hours Monday. He slept shortly after seeing the engine, the car front under a box car, and the vehicle dragged 250 yards. Jenks suffered a shattered arm and facial cuts, was taken to the county hospital, and remained unconscious briefly. He was caretaker at Convict Lake, north of Bishop. The wreck was described as the worst seen by bystanders.

Flying Too Close to Be Comfortable Near Barstow
An airplane passed over Barstow at less than a hundred feet, narrowly missing hills by about 20 feet. Crowds rushed to a hilltop thinking a crash occurred, but the plane continued, seen looping near Lenwood six miles away. Maddux field at Lenwood reported no landing, the craft stayed low along the highway.

Driver asleep causes crash near Daggett inown journey
Halberg his wife and ten month old girl and E Goodfellow in a Dodge touring car traveling from Long Beach to Salt Lake City crashed eight o'clock Sunday morning seven miles east of Daggett after Halberg fell asleep. The car turned end over end three times. The baby was thrown from the top and saved with a slight cheek scratch. The parents and E Goodfellow had minor cuts and a knee injury to Al. They were taken to Barstow by a Pickwich stage driver where Dr. John Graham treated them. The auto was demolished and they will continue by rail. The men said they drove all night to save time and would not drive when sleepy.
