London December 8 The allied governments, since Christmas, have been guided by Bolshevik peace proposals. The terms mirror those offered by M K orginaloff, the former Bolshevik ambassador in London, sent via Norway in November. No response has been given as the proposals come from a government not recognized by the allies. The entire Russian question is under discussion among the allied governments.
Boston reports eighteen thousand tons of cereals shipped overseas. The wheat prices are falling and the federal plan calls for distribution to allied markets. Shipments will depart from Boston after local collection, heading to four fort provinces for final distribution.
L E McKinley M D has been secured as second assistant pathologist and superintendent at the Vermont state hospital for the insane. The Barnet native is a graduate of Praham academy and the U V M medical department 1900. He practiced in Pennsylvania and New York before Brattleboro retreat and now Newbury general practice. He recently enlisted and was stationed at Camp Crane. The Robinson family of this place welcomes the move and the arrival of the McKinley family.
Boston health authorities reported the largest daily influenza rise since the outbreak began. For the week ending today the total new cases reached 404 with 28 deaths and sixteenth cases of lobar pneumonia and eight deaths.
Robert Warm’s murder trial for the alleged killing of Jennie Heamlingway is postponed by Judge L. Pish. The State’s Attorney said readiness for trial after February 1, when a key witness can appear. Case moved to the regular March term to accommodate defense counsel.

A. C. Comstock of Calais was injured when a tree stub struck his right shoulder while he worked in the woods Thursday. He traveled to Montpelier yesterday to seek an X ray in Burlington to determine if the injury included a broken arm or dislocated shoulder. He endured great pain after the accident and arrived in Montpelier before noon, awaiting the afternoon train.

George Humphrey died at his home on Wendell Place Thursday evening after a long illness. He was born in 187? and married Margaret Me on July 12. Survived by six children and a sister, he came to Barre in 1890 and worked in the granite industry. Funeral services were held Sunday at 3 PM, with burial in Sherbrooke, Quebec.
Hiram Matott died last night at 88 Prospect Street after a three month illness. Born in Champlain, New York in 1885 he came to Barre in 1918. A painter by trade he later worked as a frente polisher. Survived by his wife and four children Huth Raymond Fred and Ernest plus sister Mrs Thomas Alare and brother Lyon Matott. Funeral at St Monica's Church Sunday at 11 with Rev Fr McKenna officiating. interment Catholic cemetery near Websterville.
In London on December 27 Mrs.Wilson was hosted by the Countess of Reading at a luncheon. Attending were Mrs.David Lloyd George, Mrs.John W. Davis, and Mrs.My Asquith, with guests including Mike Bonham and Lady Wiseman among others. The event honored Mrs.Wilson with a reception of notable figures from diplomacy and society.
