Robinson in Jail After Preliminary Trial in Milner
Robinson Sr. who shot young Fisher had a preliminary trial at Milner yesterday and was bound over in the sum of 500 dollars. Failing to give this, he was remanded to jail at Zebulon, but it was thought he would be bailed out last night. Fisher's condition is becoming more serious.

Pleasant impromptu music sociable at Kennedy home
On Thursday night November 4 Barnesville residents gathered at Mr. and Mrs. John L Kennedy's home for an undress sociable. The event featured musical performances by Misses Daisy Rogers Belle Rose Mittie Rose Arley Murphey and Messrs Frank M Stafford James A Blalock James Marcellus Cochran and others with refreshments served by the Kennedy party and assistants. The host couple extended thanks to all attendees for their hospitality.

Prisoner transport plan aids Jasper roads
Mr. Bob Talmadge of Monticello Georgia. he is in town to transfer two Pike county prisoners to Jasper county to labor on public roads. Jasper county commissioners pay Pike county four dollars per prisoner per month for all prisoners. The program improves public highways and is popular with residents.

Hurt With It Rock Incident Involving Collier
Tuesday morning J C Collier was struck on the head by a rock tossed by Walter Spence. He suffered severe pain and was taken to Dr B J Clark’s office for medical care from Dr Clark and Dr J M Anderson. The wound is not serious and is expected to heal in a few days. the incident is regretted by all, especially by Mr Spence.

Jack Harp, a local resident, was fined 5.70 after a Saturday mayor's court appearance for a minor offense. He then spoke loudly and received several blows from the marshal's club, leading to another case and a 10.00 fine.

The United Congregational Conference met at Fredonia church near Barnesville for four days with good attendance and profits. False smallpox report shocks Barnesville
A false small pox claim sparked surprise and indignation in Barnesville. Dr. J. M. Anderson and his patient denied any symptoms while Dr. B. J. Head found the report baseless. Cotton Fire at Hunt and Bush Warehouse
At 7 30 p m Monday a fire alarm warned crews to a cotton blaze at Hunt and Bush's warehouse. Firemen hurried from the city hall where they were meeting and quickly discharged a strong water stream to extinguish the flames. The fire was soon under control.

Larger boiler installed to expand buggy works
Jackson G. Smith's shops close this week to install a boiler twice the size of the old one. The boiler moved from the depot on Tuesday and will be in place soon. Smith aims to fully meet demand for his Barnesville Buggy with a modern, high capacity plant capable of producing thousands yearly.
