A local retailer declares an unusual 30 day trade offer to all callers white or black promising to cut expenses enough to cover an Exposition trip. He asserts no goods are carried over and urges customers to compare competitors’ prices before visiting his store. He emphasizes 13 years in business and staying to “make Rome Howl in Clothing.”
Rev M F Duncan resigns from Barnesville Presbyterian Church and will depart around December 1 for Princeton Theological Seminary in New Jersey to pursue a postgraduate course. He plans no other church assignments and Barnesville awaits a successor chosen through ongoing correspondence.
The Baptist Young People's Union hosts a conquest meeting at the Baptist church at 7 30 p m with an Africa theme. The program includes songs prayers readings by four girls and talks on geography climate products history and missions in Africa. Guest speaker Thomas J Watts and Miss Lula Banks are among participants with a missionary collection and closing hymn.
By order of the Court of Ordinary of Bartow County Georgia the estate of Elia R Dwelle deceased will sell a one acre lot with improvements in Barnesville Pike County Georgia. The sale takes place on Tuesday December 3 1895 at usual hours to distribute debts and pay creditors. The property is bounded north by Market street east by J W Sisfford and Mrs M E Cochran estate south by G L Summers and west by Greenwood street. Mr. Spencer, president of the Southern railroad, states the Central will run as an independent line and not be used to boost the Southern’s image. The Central will be allowed to earn as much as it can.
A parade of residents including Mr Gus Bush Mr Wiley Jorden and many others traveled to Atlanta yesterday or Monday to attend the exposition. Several visitorsfrom nearby towns and New York Miss Cozzens joined Mrs Piper on Thomaston street and Mr Lifsey proprietor of Lifsey Springs was in the city yesterday. The piece notes Thoma ston folks and others will continue to visit the expo and mentions ongoing legislative duties of Hon J F Redding and crowds on the railroad.
Rev. A. B. Pope of Milner spent a brief visit in the city to see friends. Col. Bill Kersh, traveling representative of the Atlanta Constitution, was also in town to look after newspaper interests.

Master Morrill Lambdin visited Tuesday to help run The Gazettes and share newspaper pointers. He promised another visit and readers can expect a decided improvement. Morrill Lambdin and Powell Cotter will stay on the city stall for a great while.

Mrs T J Ogletree died at her home near town on Saturday October 26 following months of illness. She was mother to Mr J J Ogletree and Mrs J B Bankston of Barnesville. Funeral services were at Marvin Church and burial followed at Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe County.
Advance agent E L Pranpan announced the mammoth Sells Bros Circus will bring 36 cars 261 horses and 700 people to Barnesville with four rail excursions from Griffin Forsyth Thomaston and surrounding areas. Advertising cars will bill the town today and a large billboard will rise near Mitchell's tables as tents go up between the railroads for performances on November 28.
The Gordon Institute Cadets and faculty returned to Barnesville after a three day visit to the Atlanta exposition. The trip was successful with the entire party enjoying the fair and receiving attention for the cadets and girls. President Pound Lieut Piper and faculty report the excursion benefitted the school and pleased local residents.
Mr. J. H. Blackburn received a hot soda apparatus on Tuesday and will dispense hot drinks to the public. He and Mr. Rockwell pledge to provide the best soda water in the land and run a full share of the business with a notable outfit.
