Barnesville plans two new brick stores on Main Street and the public square replacing an aging building. Mr H W Swatts will tear down the 1853 structure and start construction, aiming for occupancy by September 1. The old eye sore’s removal promises improved square aesthetics and local growth.

Barnesville Tennis Club Forms To Promote Recreation
The Barnesville Tennis Club organized by town youths with Frank M. Stafford as President and R Powell Stephens as Secretary Treasurer. Ambrose Mullhhey donated Ambrose Park grounds between A M Lambdin and E W Rose for the club's use. The opening day is Friday at 5 o clock with courts and croquet sets readied. members urged to invite local young women.

Kemp Named Vice President at Gordon Institute
Prof H E Kemp elected to fill the vacancy at Gordon Institute after Prof C W Steed’s resignation. He leaves Brunswick High School to move to Barnesville in August, bringing his family, and will serve as vice president and educator.
