A letter urges closing stores at six each afternoon during July and August except Saturdays. It notes long hours, hot days, and modest business in summer. Merchants say clerks gain daily recreation, trade shifts adapt, and advertising will show the change. several merchants already favor signing.
Dr. J W Blosser and his sons conduct gospel tent meetings in Barnesville since last Thursday. Meetings have been interesting and productive with Blosser earnest and blessing the community. Clarence Blosser leads music and has built a large enthusiastic choir. Meetings will continue for some time and readers are urged to give encouragement.

The Pike County Teachers Institute adjourned Thursday afternoon after a productive meeting. Nearly all county teachers attended and benefited from the discussions led by Mr. Edward Elder, whose efforts were appreciated in advancing education.

A group of schoolboys organized a baseball team and play nearly every afternoon on the institute campus. The nine features good players and often delivers pretty games, drawing sizable crowds of visitors to watch their practice and matches as they hone their skills to compete with section peers.
