The Barnesville audience is stirred by S A C Everett of Macon performing hypnotic demonstrations. Citizens appear to respond to his suggestions as he claims to induce artificial sleep and control thoughts and actions. Due to high demand, a second show was added for Wednesday night after Tuesday performance.
Tuesday morning at Gordon Institute Cadet Seargent Linton Mc Gee sneezed his shoulder out of place. He returned to town and his arm was reset by Dr H Perdue. The pain was mild but the incident caused notable discomfort for the cadet. An older case in Newnan involved a man who sneezed repeatedly and later had his eyes strained by a physician.
The McCord residence near Zebulon was destroyed by fire on Wednesday night last week. A new house, recently occupied, burned with losses around 1600 dollars. The fire’s origin is unknown but suspected arson. McCord has wide county sympathy.
North Georgia conference announces Griffin District appoints with J B Bryan presiding elder at First Church Griffin and H J Ellis returning to Barnesville Methodist Church. Other appointments include L J Christian Hanleiter Mission and W T Bell Tromastur at Forsyth, all listed with town and pastor assignments. Barnesville cheers Ellis’s return to serve the local church.
Miss Dollie Anderson of Willard Ga. will marry Mr W T Little of Blountsville Ga. on Wednesday December 12 1894. The Barnesville community follows the couple with warm wishes and congratulations from many friends.
