Fall term announcement at Gordon Institute

Gordon Institute announces fall term begins Monday with staff changes in several departments. Miss Milner has resigned and Miss Turner will assume her duties, with Miss McCullough and Mrs Beers in leadership roles, and Miss Stewart taking charge of the public school department. Cadet Band instructor Swattstrahe and Elocution instructor Miss Ontinue remain in key posts. Tuition set at 5.50 for Primary meta classes and 6.00 for Collegiate classes. Board notes strong support and high applicant interest, with President Pound reporting many catalog requests and expected term opening.

Meeting of the Woman's Club at Library Room

The Woman's Club holds a Wednesday gathering in the Library Room on August 30 at 4 p.m. The program features papers on What to Read and How to Read, plus discussion on Mother and Child. Tent ladies present the papers. wall space is open to the club. members are urged to attend and town ladies invited.

William H. Rogers, who had been sick at his Holmes street home for a week with a light fever, is up and at business again. Friends express relief at his recovery.

Old Mill Fire Damages Buildings In Newnan Area

Saturday morning around 11 a fire alarm warned crews of a blaze at an old oil mill. Firefighters battled the flames, saving nearby structures while the mill and adjacent ginnery suffered severe damage. Crews implemented heavy hose lines as the building burned rapidly. Nearby wear mill windows shattered from the heat. Several workers or bystanders reported high heat and smoke. The draft and text indicate numerous local references to Newnan and Milner with a Methodist conference planned in early September.

Invitations received by Barnesville friends announce the marriage of Trumie Redding to Hartford L. Green. The ceremony will be Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock in the Baptist Church Zebulon Ga. The couple are well known in Barnesville and the announcement draws warm congratulation from many.
