Barnesville and Thomaston base ball teams will meet on the Institute campus Saturday after the democratic rally at about 3 o clock p.m. The contest is expected to be a fine game.

Council member Edward Elder introduced a measure to combine the clerk and treasurer roles with the water works superintendent. He argues one person can handle both offices and the plan would save the town about 400 in salary. The ordinance moves to the next regular meeting for likely passage.
The elegant Victoria owned by Mr. George E. Huguley attracts attention as Forsyth's Mr. R. P. Brooks and wife visit Barnesville. Huguley greets them at the train and offers a turnout with driver. Brooks orders a vehicle like Huguley’s.
The Pike County Lifseys gain railroad positions in the Western system. B A Lifsey of Meansville and W V Lifsey, city ticket agent at Chattanooga, will report to Assistant General Passenger Agent Benscotter. Lifsey previously served as chief clerk to J J Farnsworth during his tenure as division passenger agent.
