It lists through coach to Tates Springs departing Chattanooga at 7 00 a m arriving 12 45 p m and Seashore Express from Atlanta 7 30 p m to St Simons and Cumberland islands with three daily Macon Atlanta and Rome Chattanooga trains. Last Saturday near Piedmont Mr T H Campbell died at age 89 after a long life of Christian service. He spent 69 years in the church and was remembered for his exemplary conduct. Funeral at Century Nelson church with Rev A B Pope of Mil ner delivering the sermon. he was buried with Masonic honors.
Greenwood residents condemn street committee for tall weeds and grass along sidewalks. They say all town streets will be attended to as soon as possible and urge patience while the committee works to improve Greenwood Street.
Thomaston defeated Griffin in three straight basketball games last week. A large Barnesville crowd witnessed the contests, the final game ending without contest as Thomaston outplayed Griffin. Griffin failed to secure its expected battery, while Thomaston maintained the lead throughout.
Eighteen cars of fine melons were shipped from Barnesville this season with high prices for most. Demand is weak and markets flooded, likely limiting further shipments to a few cars. Shippers listed: P. F. Matthews 3, E. T. Crowder 4, R. C. Matthews 3, W. O. Marshburn 4, L. E. Veal 2, Robert Mitchells. I. C. Clark of Atlanta bought locally and added 1 car.
