University Forms Fine Arts Department and Courses

Tenth Annual Silver Bay Conference of YWCA Eastern States
The Tenth Annual Conference of the College Young Women's Christian Association of the Eastern States and Canada met at Silver Bay Lake George from June 27 to July 7 with delegates from Barnard Vascar Smith Wellesley Mount Holyoke Bryn Mawr Radcliffe Teachers College and others led by Mount Holyoke for most delegates. Events included Bible study discussions field sports and a joint baseball game with a July Fourth parade and songs under Dr William F McDowell presiding.

Summer Session at Columbia Enrolls 643 Students in 1902
The 1902 Summer Session drew 643 students from 30 states plus Canada Peru and China. Women outnumbered men 391 to 252 with 228 previously matriculated and 415 new students. Of all, 491 held teaching jobs while 152 were not teaching. Education was the major subject, with many in English Mathematics and German.

Bulletin Room moves to new quarters at Fiske Hall
The Bulletin reports a move to room 331 on the third floor of Fiske Hall with enlarged exchange list. The room will be open at all times except during board meetings of editors and will house magazines from other colleges for student use.
