Fire Tears Through Ringling Yacht at Tampa Dock
A blast and blaze at Gulf Refining docks near Fortune Street Bridge injured several crewmen on John Ringling’s 120 foot yacht Widomer II. Ben Olsen died from burns. others, including James Conoley and Irving Gremli, sustained serious injuries while attempting to contain the gasoline fire. An engineer attributed the ignition to rapid gasoline flow creating pressure.

Card of thanks from J. S. Davidson and family for sympathy after a tragedy. Olsen's remains turned over to Undertaker J. L. Reed. Captain Arthur Rowe of the Vidorner stood near Gulf offices when the explosion occurred and wired the Sarasota owner. Fire crews battled the blaze on the Vidomer for nearly two hours, restraining flames to the after section.

Fireman Severely Burned as Train 515 Explodes North of Monona Yards
A fireman named A. Clay of the Northwestern road suffered severe facial burns when engine 515 of the Chicago Minneapolis train exploded one mile north of Monona yards Miaulison at 1:30 am. Engineer G. Humphrey escaped injury. Clay, 26, of Chicago, was hospitalized after the blast which destroyed the engine.
Wisconsin light law allows non patented lenses for cars
John A. Hoeveler of the industrial commission in Madison says the new automobile light law does not require a special patented lens. Proper lens adjustment is the key, and motorists can comply without buying patented types, though some may prefer the better options. He advises motorists to obtain dealer guarantees that lenses meet Wisconsin standards and are correctly adjusted.

Miss Etta Clark paid a $50 fine in Justice Adolph Andre's court. W. H. Carlisch’s case was continued with bond set at $500. Detective Paul Cahoon and his nephew Bud Cahoon raided a creamery Thursday night and the court outcome followed. Earlier divorce actions were started by Mrs. Caniisch but dropped. She sought evidence for a new suit and enlisted Cahoon to obtain it. Subsequent phone calls brought in Mrs. Caffisch and others to the scene.

Twenty two patrolmen to guard Columbia county highways
