Two Autos In Head-On Collision Near Lyons
On Sunday afternoon around 3 30 two cars collided near the A H Rotzoll garage in Lyons as an Oldsmobile roadster and a Hupmobile touring car met at the junction of North Freedom and Kilbourn roads. No injuries were reported though both units were badly damaged and towed to Rotzoll garage. The Oldsmobile belonged to Elmer Peace and the Hupmobile to the King Brothers of Richland Center. The King car carried three women and two men and was traveling with companions from Reedsburg and Baraboo when the crash occurred. Both cars carried insurance.

Soldier Edward Elmore Rapped With Honor At Baraboo Cemetery
The Baraboo community held services for Edward Elmore born March 27, 1898 Milwaukee. He enlisted in 1915, served at the border, fought in France and was killed August 11 1918 at Chateau Thierry. A firing squad led by Sgt George Knight fired a parting salute as his casket lay covered with the American flag amid visiting relatives and friends. The city closed ice cream parlors from two to three o'clock during the funeral.

Burns Fatal at Elroy Doctor in Bed Fire
The Elroy doctor F F Field died two days after a bedroom fire in his Main Street home. Fire crews arrived promptly to find a bed ablaze and Field severely burned, possibly from an electrically wrapped globe used to ease pain. The globe explosion is blamed for igniting bedding.

Reedsburg men and boys organized a new military company on Tuesday. A battalion headquarters unit of 45 men and one officer was approved with Herman Miller as commanding officer. Lieut. B. R. McCoy explained the program and aims to muster in next week and train at Camp Douglas this summer with armory improvements financed by the government.

First Sauk County Park Opened Near Wonewoc
The first Wisconsin county park was opened near Wonewoc on Sunday in Woodland town. William Laubscher donated land, with support from the Sauk County highway commission and community, creating Fairy Dell Highway Park with a band stand, tables, a fern dell and a spring. Tree Breaks Six Wires at Elroy
A tree at Elroy toppled and broke six high tension wires of the Bara Boo Valley Utility company pulling loose supporting poles for several spans. The outage cut power from the Prairie du Lac dam to Elroy for about four hours.
