Fire damages barn at Caflisch creamery in town
Last evening about 7:45 the barn at William Caflisch’s creamery on Seventh and Barker streets caught fire. The roof and upper structure were damaged along with hay and grain losses totaling about 150 dollars. no insurance coverage.

County Resident Fred Kaiser Dies After Illness
Fred Kaiser aged over 70 and longtime Glenville and Greenfield resident died Wednesday night at the county hospital after a period of illness. He leaves one son Frank Kaiser of Glenville. Interment will be at the county farm.

A pleasant May 29 wedding on Fifth avenue joined Marion Wright and Frank J. Smith of Brule Mining in Stambaugh and Iron River Michigan. Rev. Ernest C. Henke officiated as music by Trebil Cox on harp accompanied a five course breakfast. The couple will reside in Iron River after a eastward wedding trip. Attending out of town guests included Mrs. Minnie Smith and the Norris and Axon families among others.

The funeral of Engineer J. E. Fellows killed in the Chicago wreck was held Wednesday at 315 Fifth Avenue. The Masons led the service with Rev. Wilson and Joseph Briscoe directing. A quartet sang as bearers from Northwestern engineers carried Fellows to the city cemetery amid flowers and a march of about 60 Masons.

Students at the McIntosh high school show work in carpentry and sewing with prize lists by ward and grade. Verne Wing won the top prize a hammer given by Prof. Walter H. McIntosh, while other awards went to John Gibbs Zania Cornell and many named students and teachers.

George H. Carter died at his daughter’s home this morning after a period of feeble health. Born in Massachusetts he moved to Baraboo six years ago with his daughter and was widowed. Funeral set for Sunday at 2 PM with services at the Lewis residence. remains to be interred in Springfield, Massachusetts beside his wife.

Bridges Fail As Severe Storm Ravages Bear Valley
May 28 heavy rain and hail flood Bear Creek and Honey Creek valleys causing widespread damage. Bridges washed out at Sandusky and Bear Valley, livestock losses, farm and fence destruction, and a school teacher Miss Edith Frasier struck by lightning with a pupil also shocked.
