Demobilization Plans Outlined For 1.8 Million Overseas Troops
General March told the Senate Military Affairs Committee in Washington that homeward demobilization could reach 1.8 million troops within six months if about 10 divisions serve as an occupation force. He said home camps could demobilize 785,000 men in 30 days with overhead staff retained. Monthly return of 300,000 troops from France could proceed using American and allied ships. some veteran divisions will not demobilize promptly.

Fire Destroys Farm Home Near Reedsburg
A fire on the Churchill farm in Winfield town about four miles northeast of Reedsburg destroyed the home and its contents. Henry Meyer and family were away when neighbor Louis Wagner spotted the blaze. The kitchen chimney is suspected as the cause. Five hundred bushels of potatoes burned in the cellar. the barn and granary were saved by neighbors. Meyer carried about 1100 dollars of insurance.

Mrs Marion LaMar Dies at Fairfield Home After Illness
Mrs Marion LaMar died at her Fairfield home Tuesday morning after a lingering illness. Born in Fairfield 63 years ago she lived most of her life there and belonged to the Wesylan church. She is survived by her husband and children including Mrs Wayne Newell Mrs Milton Holt Mrs Carl Anchor Percy LaMar James LaMar Captain Clifford M LaMar in France and Max LaMar of Chicago. She also leaves two sisters Mrs Sarah Wooden and Mrs Lester Marston and a brother William Norton.
