Portage Wine Maker Not Guilty in Prohibition Case
In Portage Circuit Court Judge Chester A Fowler acquitted Max Meyer of manufacturing intoxicating liquor. Meyer had ten gallons of home made wine found at his home and faced $200 bond. Attorney C H Metzler said the wine was for medical purposes. Eleven other dealers, five from Columbus, are held on $100 bonds for preliminary hearings on December 15 for handling tonics following raids by State Prohibition Officer H C Parkinson and Sheriff Fred Schultz.
