Impersonator Targets Book and Film Firms Using Boyle and Cooper Names
Denver officials warn of a suspected impersonator using the names of Jack Boyle and Courtney Riley Cooper to defraud magazine and movie companies. The alleged fabricator, about six feet tall with long hair, has bilked Los Angeles firms of hundreds of dollars and forged Boyle’s name in a telegram to Cosmopolitan in Pittsburgh. Boyle, 39, and Cooper, 34, both live in Denver. Boyle’s address is 118 Sherman Street, with summer residence in Yampa. Boyle authored the Boston Blackie stories while in Delton and Baraboo.

W. L. Cash, manager of the local telephone exchange, says the Skillet Falls Telephone company pays the local exchange $4.00 a year for switching and 50 cents additional for North Freedom. The company charges its subscribers $10.00 and $10.50 for service and asks a raise to $15.00 yearly. The previous item was made up from a notice of a hearing to be held at Madison and sent out by the railroad commission.
