Dome Oil Company Strikes Gas at Little Beaver Field
Dome Oil Company reported a heavy gas flow from a well on the Little Beaver field about 18 miles southeast of Baker. Drilling reached 560 feet last Thursday, supporting officers’ claim that sand strata lie about 250 feet higher here than at Baker and over 400 feet higher than at Glendive. Directors viewed the flowing gas after a Voormarth meeting, and drilling will continue on the property.

Hanging death shocks Butte amid labor unrest

Railroads Seek 15 Cent Coal Rate Increase in Montana
Helena July 30 In a petition filed July 23 the carriers Burling ton Milwaukee Soo Line Northern Pacific Gallatin Valley Great Northern and White Sulphur Springs Line seek a flat fifteen cent per ton rise on coal and coke rates for intrastate Montana. A hearing is set for August 29 at the capitol at ten o clock a.m. All interested parties may present testimony. A copy of the petition is on file at the Sentinel Office.
