A large crowd travels to Atlanta on Tuesday for the state's gubernatorial event. The week sees rains across the county aiding crops and various residents visiting kin and recovering from illnesses.

Cullen Williams husband to Miss Wimberley Cullen of this city married yesterday in Valdosta. They plan a week long bridal tour to Dublin Liacon Ilania and Beinbridge after which they return. Williams is a salesman at Nusstarm Bros furniture. the bride headed the ladies suit department at Flint River Store. The Democrat extends best wishes.
The elaborate wedding took place last Thursday at the Wilson residence near Faceville. Rev. N. P. Quarterman officiated at 9 o clock, with bamboo and cedar decor. The bride wore white taffeta, and guests showered the couple with rice as they departed for St. Augustine and Virginia before returning to River Junction Florida. The Democrat notes the union of this popular pair and welcomes such companionship in the county.
A private telegram announced the death of Mrs. Ed T. Williams formerly of this city after a prolonged illness. Her sister Mrs L C Toole of this city received the notice on Tuesday. The bereaved family and many old friends here express deep sympathy.

Lonnie Williams died in a related incident at Colquitt last Friday during a case involving Almavi Ward. Williams was pronounced dead at 12 12 pm after a neck injury, following a prior July event. Williams had been tried in October, appealed to the Supreme Court, and a petition to commute his sentence was denied. He spoke to onlookers before the scaffold urging righteousness and said he saw a man hang in Fort Gaines but did not fear death.
