A Sumter county farmer seeks marriage and mistakes two widows with the same name. He marries one after a comic mix-up, then learns he wed the wrong widow. He shrugs it off, happy with his wife, while the merchant laments the error.
An informal gathering in Albany drew Democrats from Decatur Early Randolph Calhoun Mitchell Worth and Dougherty to map a responsive, united line for the district in the coming campaign. Attendees urged a strong fight against perceived encroachments and pledged willingness to work for democracy, with no formal action taken yet.

The Perry Journal reports about 60 acres of tobacco are being grown near Powersville with L M Barnes from North Carolina in charge. He notes the soil’s suitability, potential higher yield and quality, earlier maturation, and greater profit outlook, though the venture remains experimental dependent on favorable seasons and remains a notable agricultural development in Houston.

The second is dark red with white on back and belly, overslope and crop in each ear, branding unreadable on the right hip, about years old valued at 12.50 dollars. Ten cents per day are offered for keeper compensation as of 1892 date.
