The eastern division of the Bowen Baptist Association calls a union meeting at Pleasant Grove Church in Thomas County on the Friday before the fifth Sunday in August. The program includes an introductory sermon by Rev. J. R. Blewett and discussions on social entertainments, church discipline by common courts, and sending out a committee to visit a disorderly member, opened by several pastors. Signed by G. W. Forester, J. In accordance with the resolutions of the Democratic Executive Committee of Decatur County a Democratic primary election will be held in all districts at respective precincts on Saturday August 15 1896 for nominating a State Senator from the 5th district and two members of the House to serve in the next Georgia General Assembly as well as all county officers.
