Daisy Barrett Tanner, of 906 West 23rd, resumes residence in Austin after tours of the Smoky Mountains New York Boston and Washington D C. Her son Stephen Barrett Tanner and daughter-in-law visited in Washington during the European three-year stay of the family. The Tanners, with links to the State Department and Princeton lineage, plan visits to relatives in Austin including Lula Barrett and Mrs M L Shepard.
The Curtain Club of the University of Texas staged the musical comedy Hipsy Boo Sunday for 450 in the recreation hall at McCloskey Hospital Temple. Sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary to Edwin G Hutchings Post 856 VFW the event featured Charles Baker Curtain Club president Harvey L Smith and 40 cast members. Smithville VFW auxiliary served cake and coffee to patients after the performance with attendees from Austin including M E Wicklander William Wallace Frank P Goodman Fred Burns and several auxiliary members.
The Mary Alexander Circle of the University Baptist WMU met Tuesday evening in the L B Payne Library at the church to discuss quilt plans for the new Baptist orphanage in Round Rock. Mrs Jessie Wiley led a lesson on The Arabian Highways and the session opened with a prayer by Mrs Martha Yarrington. The devotional Notes on Good Living was given by Mrs Frank Swartz. About 17 members attended.

Her ranch style house shaped cake featured garage and cars with balloons and gendered favors.
